Scotland’s Munros
A few years ago I started to take an interest in walking the 282 Munros in Scotland - a description given to every mountain of at least 3000 ft. The list was initially compiled by Sir Hugh Munro in 1891, hence the name. The list has grown and contracted since then as some of the mountains were remeasured. Some are straightforward some less so. Most have discernable paths, some don’t. One or 2 require ropes. Most are accesible from the road but some require a long walk in. Some can can be linked by a ridge and completed in one day, many are solo day trips.
